Robert B. Walker was born in New York in 1909. In Rye his family lived on Hill St. and were members of the Presbyterian Church. Robert served as an officer in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Lieut. Robert B. Walker, U. S. A. , and Mrs. Walker are parents of a son born August 4 at the United Hospital. The infant is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Walker of Hill Street. He is named Robert Shell Walker. His mother is the former Miss Virginia Shell of Sherman, Texas. They are staying with Mr. and Mrs. Walker.

Birth: Jul. 5, 1909 Death: Apr. 30, 1984 ROBERT B. WALKER FAIRHOPE, Ala. Private graveside services for Robert B. Walker, 75, of Fairhope, were held on May 2 at Fairhope Memory Gardens with Sr. Andrea Coleman officiating. A resident of Fairhope since 1947, Walker died on April 30 at a local hospital.

He was a World War II veteran having served four years in India as a buyer for the Post Exchange in the CBI Theatre. He came to Fairhope in 1947 and opened Shell's 5&10 Store, which he owned and operated until 1974. Since then he has been semi-retired, operating Fairhope Fabrics until the time of his illness.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Shell Walker, Fairhope; two sons, Robert Shell Walker, Cullman, and Pellum Walker, Fairhope; one sister, Emily Sweeney, Sarasota, Fla.; and three grandchildren. Funeral arrangements were handled by Bayview funeral Home Chapel of Fairhope.
